Cerri has been interested in quilts her entire life and finally had the opportunity to start when she met her future husband. Her mother in law was an avid quilter and taught her the craft. It gave her an opportunity to make something she had always wanted and to connect with family. For the past nine years, this craft has turned into a passion.
I visited Cerri in her home sewing room but it was definitely more like an artist’s studio. Her personality and passion for quilting encompassed the room. Being one of the smaller spaces I’ve visited, the layout made creating quilts efficient and easy. Each area of the room had what she required to complete each stage of the build.
Cerri brings history and passion together when she designs her quilts. During my visit, she outlined how her (and her husband’s) Scottish heritage influenced the design and how the materials she uses support that design. The lap quilt she is creating will be a one-of-a-kind masterpiece connected to their roots and her passion.
