Michael James began his academic journey in 2018 after starting the Master of Arts in Professional Communications at Royal Roads University. As a maker himself, Michael is interested in how the tools and materials shape our making. Influenced by Dr. Tim Ingold’s approach, Michael is seeking to better understand the process of making and how this changes as we create and make choices about our tools and materials. As a woodworker, he explores this each day in his wood shop and as a professional communicator, he attempts to apply those lessons to his career.
